Adelyn loves her buddy Becker and wherever you find him, you will probably find her close behind! Here she is watching and learning how to maneuver the Little People's train. Trains were big with everyone today, so we had three different sets going. Leightyn finished up her wooden figurine during art time today, Caleb worked on his letter 'G is for Grapes' from last week and everyone made awesome turkeys to take home and share with their families. We worked on our coloring skills with these wooden pilgrims today. Caleb's artsy juices were flowing. He took his time and added some great colors to his. Klayden, Becker and Owen all got silly with some shaving cream this afternoon. The feeling of having it all over their hands was a little discomforting to a couple of the guys, so kuddos to everyone for at least trying it
We started working on letter H today. The children had fun making their H's into happy horses. Klayden was rocking at scissor cutting! Look at that little dude go all by himself! Adelyn and Owen took some time to sit back and relax to some good books this morning. Things heated up this afternoon when we pulled out all of the electronic construction vehicles. I'm really proud of Owen and Becker for taking the time to learn how to maneuver these beasts. There are 4-5 levers on each truck which makes driving them tough. These two guys worked hard to stay frustration free until they got the hang of it.
We worked together and made a whole Potato Head family this morning. Here's a photo of the gang working hard on their spuds.
Klayden and Adelyn had fun this morning in the sensory box of corn! Adelyn crawled right in! We built a HUGE fort this afternoon. The children had a blast crawling through the "secret" passages and reading inside.
We constructed letter H's with Playdoh this morning. During our following free-time, Klayden made some great patterning using a variety of tools, Owen built a very nice bowl and Adelyn learned that Playdoh tastes salty.
The children were creative with wiki sticks during art time today. We also used them to make our review letters A through G and new letter of the week, H. Adelyn enjoyed sitting with her big kid friends at the table.
We celebrated Klayden's birthday today with some yummy oatmeal M & M cookies his mommy made! He wasn't too sure about all of the attention so we kept it low key. Happy 2nd Birthday big guy! It has been bitter cold all week. Here is a picture of the big kids bundled head-to-toe for some play time outside. Adelyn is so silly with the kitchen chairs. She can not wait to sit with the big kids!
These guys love to help out in the kitchen. We made some yummy streusel muffins this morning and they were very helpful littler bakers.
Everyone was excited to be back and see each other after being gone for a week. Adelyn used a fork for the first time today and was a pro by the end of her meal. What a big girl. Addie missed Becker over vacation and was giving him lots of love today. Here they are during circle time. We started our studies on the letter G today which we will continue throughout the week. We also began talking about Turkey day and the winter season coming up soon.
